MEET THE FOUNDERWhy I built Gone by Tuesday
“This is the moment people want: someone competent walks in, takes over, and gets it done.”
I’m Emma McLaren and when my mom died in East Coast Canada, I was living in West Coast California. The situation was complicated—family dynamics, estate logistics, short timelines, executor decisions, and tight windows to be on-site. There was a mess, literally and figuratively. I didn’t know how to handle the figurative part. But I knew exactly what to do with the literal one.
I’ve been the “stuff person” my whole life—helping friends, family, and my mom while she was alive. And I’ve done it at the extreme end in my own life: multiple, big international moves and long stretches living around the world. When you’ve had to clear a whole life and start again somewhere new, you learn what must be secured first, what can be released, and how to sequence the rest without getting stuck—storage decisions, shipping decisions, what sells vs. donates, and what has to travel with you.
With a few days on the ground at my mom’s home, I coordinated vendors, triaged the contents, recovered value where it made sense, routed the rest, and avoided the slow spiral of a garage sale or drawn-out estate sale.
People didn’t believe me when I said I could have most of it gone by Tuesday. Then I did—and the home was ready for handoff.
Gone by Tuesday exists for people in that exact situation: you’re carrying the responsibility, the deadline is real, and the contents are blocking everything else. This is the moment people want: someone competent walks in, takes over, and gets it done. I take the clipboard and run the closeout so you can stop carrying the logistics and focus on what matters and let the rest be handled.
OUR PHILOSOPHYWhy “Gone by Tuesday”
The name comes from a real moment: when everything feels heavy, and the house still needs to move forward. You want what matters secured, what has a realistic resale path separated, and everything else cleared—thoughtfully, not carelessly. We know what you’re going through, but that doesn’t change the fact that sometimes you just want it gone by Tuesday.
The Gone by Tuesday Difference
Gone by Tuesday means closing it out with momentum and respect—not as one indiscriminate pile, but through a clear process.
What you can expect:
Calm, decisive execution on-site
Clear “done / next” updates with photo verification
Vendor coordination and access handled without you chasing people
What makes GBT different
Bracketed scope so projects stay finishable
Tuesday Closeout Protocol (finite decision structure)
Documented progress (photos; receipts when available) + one accountable operator
“Gone by Tuesday” is shorthand for how we work: keep decisions finite, keep the work finishable, and move the home to a defined end state—without drift.
What You Need To Start
You don’t need to sort first. You don’t need a perfect plan.
To begin, you just need:
a real deadline or need to clear the house, and
authority to make decisions (or access to the decision-maker).
